BIO
Jorge Castañeda was born in Mexico City and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After training alongside Max at CalArts, the award-winning stage actor performed in Dijon, Montpellier, Paris, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and on-camera for Alejandro González Iñárritu – all while experimenting with form and function in screenwriting. Co-founder of Labcoat Meerkat, a global collective creating Avant-pop films with an emphasis on imagination, he is curious and collaborative by nature, playfully unafraid to explore human experience with friends old and new. Jorge is also an experienced organizer in Los Angeles, including as deputy field director at Obama 2012, with California Nurses Association (CNA) in 2013, AIRBNB in 2014, political consultant during Hillary 2016, and most recently with Coalition to Preserve LA and as ally to the Committee to Defend Roosevelt and California’s Yes On Prop 10 campaign.
